Cranberry Township floor coatings
Yes, we coat floors in Cranberry
Cranberry is a few minutes up I-79 from our Wexford shop, one of the easiest runs on our map. The township sits at the interchange of I-79 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, which is exactly why it filled up with subdivisions, office parks and retail over the last thirty years.
That means a particular kind of floor. Newer houses with attached two and three car garages, slabs that are sound and dead flat, and a steel trowel finish that hardware store floor paint has nothing to grab hold of. It is the ideal starting point for a flake garage floor.
What a Cranberry slab is actually up against
A new slab is sound, but it is not protected. Concrete straight off the trowel is full of open pores, and around here those pores fill with salty meltwater every winter. Freeze and thaw does the rest: water expands as it freezes and lifts the surface off a flake at a time. A five year old garage floor in Cranberry can already be showing it.
The other thing about a new slab is how smooth it is. That steel trowel finish is why floor paint from a big box store lifts off in sheets the first summer, and it is exactly why we diamond grind before anything goes down. Open concrete gives the coating something to lock into. See how the epoxy build works.
What we handle here
Floors we finish in Cranberry Township
Flake Garage Floor Coatings
The job Cranberry asks for most. The builder handed over a flat gray slab that has been catching oil, salt and tire marks ever since. Ground, filled, coated, flaked and sealed in two days. See how we build a garage floor.
Finished Basement Floors
Newer houses out here have big basements that end up as playrooms, gyms and home offices. A finished concrete floor handles all three and never holds damp the way carpet does. See basement floors.
Metallic Floors For A Feature Room
Metallic is the finish people pick when the floor is meant to be looked at. Pigment moved through the resin, no two the same, and it works as well in a bar room as it does in a showroom. See epoxy floors.
Office Park And Retail Floors
The business parks along Route 19 and Freedom Road run on floors that take carts, boots and spills all day. Polished or coated, both cut the cleaning down to a mop. See shop and warehouse floors.
Why Cranberry calls us
The owner quotes it, and the owner runs it
Rick Chase has been finishing concrete floors in this part of Pennsylvania since 2004. He comes out to Cranberry himself, looks at the slab and prices it, then runs the crew that grinds and coats it. Nothing gets handed to a stranger in between.
Elite Concrete Floors is a BBB Accredited Business with an A plus rating and holds Pennsylvania contractor registration PA108735. Both are public records, and in a trade with a lot of trucks and not much paperwork they are worth two minutes of your time.
Where you will find us around Cranberry
Route 19 and Freedom Road carry most of what happens in the township, and the subdivisions either side of them are where the garage work is. The Turnpike and I-79 interchange puts us in and out quickly, which is part of why Cranberry is such a regular run for us.
Out past the retail it turns into Butler County proper fairly fast, with older properties, pole barns and workshops on bigger lots. Those slabs have usually had a harder life than a subdivision garage, and they often want resurfacing before a finish goes on.

Straight answers about your concrete floor questions
Do you actually come out to Cranberry Township?
Constantly. It is a few minutes up I-79 from Wexford, one of the shortest runs on our map. Call (724) 313-7520 and Rick will set a time to come and look at the slab.
My garage floor is the plain gray slab the builder left. Can you coat it?
That is the floor we start with most often in Cranberry Township. Newer slabs are sound, just sealed smooth by the trowel. We open the surface with a diamond grinder so the coating has something to bite into.
Why did my last garage floor coating peel?
Usually one of two reasons: the concrete was never ground open so the coating sat on the surface, or moisture was pushing up through the slab. Grinding first and checking for moisture stops it happening twice.
How long will my garage be out of use?
Two days for the work on most two and three car garages, then cure time before vehicles go back on. You get the real dates in writing before we book you in.
Do you do the basement as well?
Yes, and a lot of Cranberry Township customers do both in one visit. The basement is usually the bigger change to how the house feels, and finished concrete down there does not mind the damp.
Do you work on businesses in Cranberry Township?
Yes. The office parks and retail along Route 19 and Freedom Road are part of our map, and those floors get the same grinding and the same finishes, scheduled around your opening hours.
